The Smart Factory…

… it's not a concept anymore, it's reality. In today's evolving smart factory environment, DVT's new technology is helping to increase productivity and flexibility in three significant ways. First, by giving devices the ability to "see". Next, based on what they see, "make decisions". Then, "communicate" those findings with other smart factory devices… all in fractions of a second. SmartImage Sensors are vital nodes in today's smart factory control network.   

Image Acquisition

DVT's unique technology delivers a high level of stability for reading each individual picture element (pixel).This accuracy allows for direct analysis of feature characteristics such as presence or absence, orientation, size, and position relative to other features. And, DVT's proprietary Windows-based software, Framework, provides a number of software tools, Softsensors, that facilitate inspection.

Evaluation

Compares the product features under inspection to establish parameters and tolerances to determine if the product meets specifications. FrameWork SoftSensors allow many different characteristics to be evaluated concurrently.

Reporting

Communicates inspection results to external devices. This communication can be Ethernet, field bus, discrete digital I/O, or serial. In many cases the overall pass, warn, or fail digital signal is output to accept or reject products and alert operators to adjust process variables. In addition, a wide range of quantitative data about each product can be communicated to support SPC data analysis, motion and process control interfacing.
